Adventure in Santorini Pt2

So the adventure continues!

We now had our luggage back and we were in the mood to get some hard core relaxing done. It was nice just to have a couple of lazy days of walking and drinking iced coffee. The town or Oia is not very big but being a volcanic island there are a lot of steps! I'm hoping we burnt more calories then we ate..... but probably not.

This was one of the most impressive sets of steps and you cant even see all of them in this pic. Me and Fee did them a couple of times as there was some nice seafood places at the bottom.

This is where the steps lead you to and we could actually see this from our room. This is where a lot of the tour boats pulled in so we would make sure to head down when the place was NOT crawling with tourists.

As I mentioned before the sun set is rather famous and rightly so. We had a front row seat every night but people would line up and sit on rooftops just to get a good view.

Now thats a view!

The picture can't really do it justice but the colours were amazing.

Pretty lady on a pretty island.

This reminded us of Denmark.

Not sure what I was looking at ....

We spotted this little island and we kind of hoped it was the home of some kind of Bond villain!

This guy just hung out there most days keeping an eye on us tourists.

For the most part* the food was great on the island and this was once of the best meals. That desert was Mascarpone with white chocolate and berries..... I MUST RECREATE IT!

*Fish is very fresh on the island but shell fish and most stuff like Squid is frozen and imported in. So that can be a little disappointing if you are not aware of it. So just stick to the amazing fresh fish.

Adventure in Santorini Pt1

Boooo! As good as it is to be back reading your great blogs i'm sad to be back in Denmark after such a nice holiday in the sun. Me and the Mrs jetted off to Santorini which is a volcanic island off the coast of Greece. We had a great time relaxing in the sun and eating great food, so here's part one of the photo bombing... ENJOY!

Fee was mega excited to be going on holiday.
EEEEEEE!

We had to take the train up to Copenhagen as we could not fly out of Billund, so this was part one of the long journey.

On of our stops was in Milan where we had a quick bite to eat before our flight. Mushrooms, Ham and melted Cheese with a glass of Wine..... simple but very tasty indeed.

The next stop was in Athens where we had a good few hours to kill, thank god for the business lounge! Plus we got to see the 'Museum of Decrative Bread' while we were there. BONUS!

After one Train and three planes we finally made it to Santorini in the early morning. Tired but happy to have arrived to such a great sun rise.

People waiting for the 'gods of the luggage belt' to deliver them gifts.... sadly the gods were not pleased with us and we had to wait an extra day for our bags to arrive.

However, once we saw the view from our room were soon forgot about the luggage. Well done to Mrs Groves for finding such a great apartment.

No matter where you go on this island you have a great photo op!

As we were early our room was not ready, so we went for a walk around town. Turned out to be nice as nobody was about at that time and the town can get rather busy.

"THE BELLS! THE BELLS!"

Once the tour buses and the cruise ships come in you can hardly walk down these streets.
So getting to see it in the early morning was a great.

The local and very pretty church.

So much Blue sky!

As its a volcanic island you get some rather funky plant life going on.

Greece is the home of sweet iced coffee or 'Frappe' as the locals call it. Me and the Mrs are very much into iced coffee at the moment, so that worked out well for us.

Once we got into our room we were rather tired and took and nap and had a relaxed night.

The sunsets are AMAZING and we had a front row seat every night on our side of the island. :)

Making myself even more unemployable...

Its all over, no longer can I get a job at Pizza Hut or KFC.... for I am now one of those social outcasts who has a HAND TATTOO! This Tattoo was done by my favorite artist, Mr Judd Ripley of Copenhagen. Thanks again JR, until the next time. :)

So here I am again at 'The Sailors Grave' of Copenhagen.
It's fast becoming my home away from home!

There she be!
This tattoo is for Mrs Grove and the 13 amazing years we have had so far.

The big three one...

So on the 31st of January I turned the grand old age of 31..... plus there was some sort of 'new years' thing going on at the same time. I cant say a feel different or wiser in anyway, so if your here for some insightful words then you've come to the wrong blog. :P

The Mrs and me all dressed up for the New years party at 'Lami Towers'
Out friend Lami lives in a tall apartment block that has a great view of the town, so its always good for viewing the fireworks at midnight.

I whipped up a Green Tea cheese cake just for the fun of it.
The Mrs said it was the BEST so far.

Super Mega Dupa Update....

Ok, so the posts have been piling up and it's time to get up to date with the bloggings around here.

Last week me and a buddy went to see Machine head over in Copenhagen, it was a great line up with Bring Me Horizon and Devil Driver as support. Sadly the crowed was a little thin and subdued for these bands which was a real shame as the rock. However Machine Head DESTROYED the venue and my hearing!! So it was a great night all in all.

Tickets just seem to be getting bigger and bigger these days.

This was a map showing the route from our hotel to the venue. We figured it was a 15min walk..... after 40min of walking we got a train. I'll never trust a map again.

I'm don't really take photos at show as I am fed up seeing a sea of iPhones but I had to capture this.
Long story short 'Casper' was invited up on stage to flash is man boobs then stage dive..... he was a big guy and it did not end well for him.  :/

Last Sunday was very 'nice' and by that I mean it was all very grown up and polite as we went to Church. We were there for little Naya's christening and it was a fun little day out.

Proud Daddy Will with his fast growing bundle of joy.
She was very well behaved on the day.

Apparently she is a thumb sucker.... still cute.

It gave me and Fee an excuse to 'scrub up' and look nice.

Ok now comes all the random bits that are fun to know but don't really justify a full post of their own. Sorry random photos, its sad but true.....

Movember is in full swing and me and the guys are hoping to raise lots of cash for charity. So get involved or give me lots of cash!

We had a fancy home cooked dinner the other night. Duck leg with mashed sweet potato, fried Scollop on pesto and Mushrooms with Spinach and cream..... YUM!

Fee has become the 'bringer of warmth' and got me an early Xmas gift in the form of a Canada Goose Jacket. Its getting cold her in DK so this is much needed.... TAK BABE!

Good food for a job well done!

Been a busy week here for Mr & Mrs Groves. Fee's company is moving to a fancy new HQ and I had a big presentation at work to prep for. When we are busy at work the household chores takes a back seat, so today we hit the apartment and gave a it a good tidy up! Even got round to sorting out the new internet line..... so it was a productive day!

As a pat on the back to both of us I made something nice for dinner..........

Mushroom & Chicken Risotto
Our friend Christine brought us some nice risotto rice back from Italy, so this was a nice chance to give it a try. Turned out pretty tasty.

I even made some 'Pesto Snails'

The Birthday of Mrs Groves....

The 22nd was Fee's Birthday and we have been eating Cheesecake for three days straight..... not that I am complaining but I think my Liver and waist line are about to give up on me!

You cant have a Birthday without Flowers and gifts!

Fee was off to the Spa with a friend so we had a light breakfast. I did a posh twist on Egg's & Bacon.

On her Return I had made a super tasty Cheesecake with Strawberries and Jam.

This one turned out pretty good I have to say, just look at the layers!

That night we went out for dinner at a nice Italian place in town. Tasted great but we had not eaten that much Pasta in a long time so we were VERY full. The upside was that we did not eat all the Cheesecake that night! We were nice and shared it with some friends Friday night before going out for dinner and drinks..... yes you read that right, BEFORE DINNER! The best thing about being a grown up is eating cake whenever you want.  :P

Today we went to see Lizzy who was having her birthday today..... again we took Cheesecake.

Fee was teaching Amilie how to say animal names in English.... which was super cute. :)
