The great big Xmas post...

Hello people of the internet! How have you been? I hope you had and are having a nice Xmas vacation. Its been rather nice here in DK for the Groves household. Relaxing, eating, drinking and just having a nice time...... and it all began with Brunch!

We popped out on the 23th for Brunch with our friend Christine before she headed off to see her family. We went to a cute local place and had this nice but very filling plate of goodness.

After Brunch we headed off to get our Xmas tree. Fee was very excited and had lots of fun decorating it AND the rest of the apartment.

On the night of the 24th we were invited over to spend the evening with our German friends Sven, Lizzy and their cute little girl Amelie. Just like the Danes the Germans do their gift giving on the 24th (Crazy people!) so we got to winess and take part in some fun german Xmas traditions.

Amelie very much liked the tree and spent a lot of time with Fee pointing and naming all the things that were on the tree.

She could see herself in the decorations.... this resulted in hours of fun.

Sven cooked up some home made schnitzel with potato salad.
It was very good!

It was a great night but we made sure not to over do it as we needed to be up early for our Xmas morning gift giving and dinner preparations as the Germans and one Romanian were joining us for dinner that night.

I got a whole box of Bow ties from the in laws which was nice.
So i'm excited to wear those in the new year.

Fee got me a super, super nice new leather bag for work.

Fee made the table look great for Xmas dinner by hand making some decorations.

I didn't take many photos on the day as we were busy cooking and having fun, but I did get a good shot of my home made mince pie snails. :)

Well, i'm off to relax in front of the open fire.
MERRY XMAS!

Xmas cookies and a baby sitting job..

Xmas is very much upon us, only two weeks to go now! To help get everyone in the mood our American friends Tara & Jason hosted a little cookie decoration party. They had every thing baked and ready when we got there, we just had to make them pretty.

There was many shapes to choose from as Tara has a big collection of cutters.

Here are some of my 'in progress' cookies.

Fee put her steady hands to good work on the cookies.

Matthew, being the tallest was given the task to take a pic of all the cookies.
We all likes his pose.

Just a small selection of the sugary treats that were made that night.

As Tara & Jason are expecting their first baby I made this 'mummy' themed cookie.

Speaking of babies, our German friends Sven & Lizzy are expecting their second baby in the new year and we are on 'the list' for baby sitting when the time comes. So we popped over to see them to get details sorted. It's always fun seeing those guys as we get to hangout with Amelie....

She enjoys seeing herself on the iPhone screen.

Cupcakes & Friends...

Last weekend was a nice and rather productive one for the Groves household. On Friday night we drove down to Billund to catch up with our friends Lizzy & Sven. We will actually be spending Xmas with them so it's a good job we actually like them. Then on Saturday we got ALL of our xmas shopping done which is great, so now we can just chill out until Xmas.

Lizzy showing off her very round baby bump, no2 is due in January so it's not long now.

Fee, Sven and Mr Mustache waiting for the very yummy main dish to arrive.

We picked up some Chocolate and VERY tasty cupcakes for desert. We made sure there was one for Amelie their little girl, but we wanted proof that it was not eaten by Sven.....

... so there is the proof, now THATS how you eat a cupcake!

In other news I was in the Local Vejle magazine, I figured it was only going to be half a page.... turned out to be a 4 page spread!

We also received our bumper box of "We do not plan to do anything over Xmas" DVD's.
Cant wait for a nice Xmas break.

LEGO Christmas gifts Pt.2

This was actually made for my buddy Sam who was a secret Santa for somebody who is a fan of the 'I.T. Crowed'. Its a British comedy show about some I.T. geeks, very funny so look it up on Youtube. This is Moss who is a super geek, the intro is all pix-elated like an old 8bit game so it works well in LEGO.

He only asked if I could help him get some bricks so he could build it at home, but being the LEGO professional that I am I could not help building it to make sure it all looked ok. As a thank you Sam sent me a cool PS3 game I had been wanting...Sweet!

Moss in all is bricky goodness.

Thanks for the cold Santa...

Sorry for the lack of blogging of late, I have been a broken man for the past week and unable to blog properly. Heres the short version:

Got to London and stayed with my Dad for two days, he has Cats which I am ellergic too so by the time Fee's parents came to pick us up on Xmas day my chest and breathing was rather weak. I figured that would improve once we got to their place but sadly my in-laws don't like to use the heating in their own home. So by the time we left on the 27th I had a bad chest cold.

On returning home there was no time to rest as my super wife had arragned for us to go to a super cool summer house to have a super cool birthday/new years party in. :D

Some of the gang (just one really) whipping up a storm in the kitchen.

The vultures are circling!

Super cheeeeeeeeeesy lasagna.

Lucky we had a super long table to fit everybody on.

After stuffing our faces with cheese and salad people split up to either chill out, play games or simply eat lots of cold & flu medicine (that was me). Fee was heading up the 'game table' and she ended up being on the winning team, which is a good thing because she is a bad loser!

The little one has the highest I.Q.

Fee was looking a little sternly at poor Matthew, maybe he was not 'getting it' quickly enough.... god help him!

The next morning Fee had to pop out early to do the Booze run too Germany..... turns out she was picking up some of my family who had flown in from the UK! :D

Pop Groves.... he likes the size of the Beer cans in Denmark.

It is just a little bit bigger than the normal cans.

That night we played 'Mafia' with the gang.... never played it before but it was rather fun.

So the next morning Fee said she had to 'go to the supermarket' but I had figured out she was actually going to pick up my big Brother from the airport.... how cool is my wife?

Pop and big brother Spencer discussing the size of beer cans in Denmark.

Little sister, Sisters boy friend and big Brother.... with a big can.

The Summer house had become a party house for new years eve.

My epic ET cake that the was made for me!
Its a long story, but I was a big ET fan as a kid and I once had an ET cake that did not look like ET. So they figured now would be the time to correct that.

Quick and painless, I didn't want him to suffer.

He was tasty and tender, but we could not bring ourselves to eat his face. :/

Once it hit 12 we cracked open a special bottle of fizz that
was given to us on our wedding day.

Darth-Sven
He was in charge of the fireworks that would ring in the new year.

The very, very, very pretty Mrs Groves.
Thank you soooooo much for a great birthday! :)

Only a few hours until Santa gets here!!!

So its almost Christmas Day (yay!) and we are getting into the mood here in the Groves house hold, the Trees are up and twinkling, gifts are wrapped and the log fire is burning. Bring it on!!!

Me and Fee don't like to share space under
the Tree, so we have one each.

Mmmmmm warming.

The inlaws (The Lee's) have imported some goodness into DK for us to enjoys over the Xmas period, there is not enough room on this blog to show you all of it but here are a choice few pic.

Can you guess what it is yet?

It's a Duck! or it was at some point.
I tell ya, it would be impossible to be Vegetarian and married to a Chinese person!

Somehow the Lee's got this packaged and into DK without any problems, there was also some roast pork (my favorite) and some dried mushrooms and some Dumplings. Nom Nom! They also got some Bisto Gravy over to us....i'm not a fan but Fee is loving this.

Its like instant coffee granules....but meaty and brown.

In some other news, I did get some ink done the other day (yay!) but no pics just yet. I'll get some pu in the next few days, just need to figure out how best to take the pics (i'll explain all when the time comes).

Have a great day tomorrow everybody out there in internet land!

Merry Xmas!
