Back from Blighty!

Hello people! Did you miss me?

Well we are back from London and we had a GREAT time. Shopping, eating, drinking and best of all hanging out with family & friends. We were so busy having fun that we did not really take any pics.... sorry.

However I will make it up to you as on the next post i'll finally get up some pics of the new Tattoo Judd did for me a few weeks ago. :)

So to keep you going until then, here is a little look at some of the bits we picked up during our shopping spree in London town.

Ran out of good tea bags a few weeks ago, so i'm all stocked up for a little while.
An Englishman needs his tea!

Oh yes.... individual sized Cheese cakes will be happening some time soon.

Fee is off to Tibet soon, so we picked up a more 'manageable' and smaller lens for traveling.

My Dad brought be a brand new Guitar....Sweet!

It's just a 7 inc replica :P

Been a good Easter so far....

Where to begin?

Ok, so I have been messing around with some home recording (fills the void of not being in a band) but i've not been getting great guitar results. The Bass Guitar sounds good but my 'normal' Guitar sounds like mud when it runs though a Bass rig.

So I got myself the Line6 POD 2.0

It's a little gizmo that hooks to your computer and can emulated the sounds of popular Guitar Amps and Cabs (like Marshall and Peavy). I'm hoping this will make things sound a little more 'rocking' on the recordings.

The Red bean of doom!

Also took the opportunity to get some new strings for the Bass. This is my Custom gauge incase you want to by me some strings in the future.

Also got my eye on this little baby, my current FX unit is about 15 years old now is and due for an upgrade..... maybe next payday.

The reason I say "next payday" is because I have just ordered my iPad 2. It won't be shipping for a few weeks but i'm already counting the days. I'm looking forward to just using the laptop for my music recording and other photo editing related stuff.... the more 'hard core' jobs. Then the iPad can be for surfing, presentations and other fun stuff.

Oh, and I got the white one.

....and the good news just keeps on coming this week because tonight I am going to see the mighty Cancer Bats!!! If you don't know them, then you should.

The two hottest tickets in town.

Bass.Down.Low

Mrs Groves it up in Arhus visiting some friends and having a girly night out, so i'm making some noise, listening to music and maybe hitting the PS3.

Lately I have been missing playing in a group or just creating some music. Sadly there is nobody around who is into the the stuff i'm into and wants to 'jam', so i've been playing around with recording music.

Been using 'Garage Band' on my Mac and its rather good and simple to use. The only down side is the guitars..... they suck. I am getting a nice sound from my Bass and equipment but the guitars aren't really up to the job.

This is my little up and coming home studio.

As a 5 string Bass player I like to play in a lower tuning (B) and mine and Fee's old guitars just can't get to the same tuning without sounding like crap. My guitar was given to me by an old friend many years ago and it has seen better days (it cant even stay in tune for more than 10mins) and Fee's little Telecaster just can't tune down to a 'B' because the strings get too floppy.

No floppy string here, just smooth and heavy tones.

Plus it's all going though a Bass rig with makes the guitars sound really odd, been recommended a 'Pod XT' by a buddy that I can run the guitars through. This should help but if the guitars are not up to the job it wont help that much. :/

If only I had one of these.....

7 strings would help.... a lot.
