Chill-laxing.

It was a relaxed weekend here in Vejle for the Groves family. We were planning on heading up to Copenhagen but the Mrs had to take it easy this week under Doctors orders as the baby was making himself/herself felt. So we decided to just have a nice little weekend and started by popping out for a nice dinner.

All three of us heading off to dinner.

This is where we decided to go. Very pretty place.

Cabbage and cream soup.

Fried vegetables with homemade mayo and sweet potato chips.

Pork with Cheese and berries.

Ice cream with crumbled cookie, berries and cream.

Decided I NEED to join this order.

On Saturday I took the opportunity to clean the apartment and do some much needed house work. Cant say the wife was too pleased by this so I made tasty Sushi and Tempura to cheer her up.

Sunday turned out to be super sunny this Sunday, so we invited ourselves over to our friends Sven & Lizzy's place.....who have a nice garden. They fired up the BBQ and we all enjoyed a bit of sun.

I was trying to brush up on my German.

That is a good sight on a sunny day.

Sven has an Apple tree in the garden, and I do mean APPLE....

..as this is the only one. It better taste good.

Swinging sister.

Adventure in Santorini Pt2

So the adventure continues!

We now had our luggage back and we were in the mood to get some hard core relaxing done. It was nice just to have a couple of lazy days of walking and drinking iced coffee. The town or Oia is not very big but being a volcanic island there are a lot of steps! I'm hoping we burnt more calories then we ate..... but probably not.

This was one of the most impressive sets of steps and you cant even see all of them in this pic. Me and Fee did them a couple of times as there was some nice seafood places at the bottom.

This is where the steps lead you to and we could actually see this from our room. This is where a lot of the tour boats pulled in so we would make sure to head down when the place was NOT crawling with tourists.

Arty shot that could go on a holiday website No1

As I mentioned before the sun set is rather famous and rightly so. We had a front row seat every night but people would line up and sit on rooftops just to get a good view.

Arty shot that could go on a holiday website No2

Now thats a view!

The picture can't really do it justice but the colours were amazing.

Pretty lady on a pretty island.

This reminded us of Denmark.

Not sure what I was looking at ....

We spotted this little island and we kind of hoped it was the home of some kind of Bond villain!

This guy just hung out there most days keeping an eye on us tourists.

For the most part* the food was great on the island and this was once of the best meals. That desert was Mascarpone with white chocolate and berries..... I MUST RECREATE IT!

*Fish is very fresh on the island but shell fish and most stuff like Squid is frozen and imported in. So that can be a little disappointing if you are not aware of it. So just stick to the amazing fresh fish.

Ups and downs....

We have been having water dramas at home over the past few weeks. First we had no electricity in the kitchen or hot water in the bath room...then we had electricity but no hot water.... then we had a new boiler installed and got the hot water back.... but had no cold water.... then in one great day we had HOT AND COLD WATER! Oh what a day that was.

The Bathroom has been a mess of pipes and workmen for weeks.

Plumbers arriving to save the day.

So now we are back in the modern world and able to have a shower, which has been good since the weather has been great here in Denmark over the past week. Nice and hot in the land of the Vikings! So that meant visiting friends and having lots of BBQ.

Fee has been getting some practice in with little baby Romy.

"Here Uncle Nik, have a treat"
"Oh thanks Amelie *crunch*"
"Its actually dipped in poison! HAHAHAH"

Been having a few nice walks, one of which took us down by the harbor where I snapped a pic of the "wave" building.

It was a three-day weekend here in DK.... which meant 3 days of BBQ!

Updating you all....

Been mega super duper busy with work this end, got two projects on the go and a big presentation next week so I've been spread a little thin. However, here's a round up of what's been going on of late....

The Mrs has been craving fruit lately, so smoothies have been on the menu a lot.

Been doing some rather different shopping on the weekends, defiantly new for both of us.

We had another scan recently, crazy how much detail you can see on these scans. He/She is really starting to look like a real person.

Been doing some Designer Videos for LEGO.... here is a sneak peek from behind the scenes!

Been growing a beard, mainly because I have no time for a real shave.
The hand tattoo has also healed up rather well.

Summer house fun....

Last week we took a nice long weekend and borrowed a summer house from a friends parents up in the North of Denmark. The first few days were nice and the weather was decent. We ate some good food, chilled out, played games and relaxed..... but then I got sick. Seems there is some evil flu bug doing the rounds at work and I was not safe. So that put a dampener on the last few days and i'm still recovering.

Oh well enjoy the pics.

Road trip!

This was our get away house for the long weekend.

Eggs in peppers, tasty and it makes the frying pan look like it's got goggly eyes.

We popped out to the big city to pick up some supplies and got some tasty food.

Classy, no?

Fee spotted this interestingly named toy....

May I introduce you to the "worlds most alcoholic coffee in the world"...

Yum! Yum! cake.

Sick kids, Yummy food and Tattoos...

Last week was rater exciting as our friends Sven and Lizzy were about to have baby number two and we were all on stand by! While at work I got a call from Sven saying they needed to get to the Hospital and could I come over and watch Amelie who was at home sick. I said no problem! :)

Amelie had a touch of flu and was not her normal energetic self... but we had fun none the less, just look at how happy she is.

We must have watch 'Tangled' about 8 time before I attempted to put her down for a nap..... and I was all cried out from the movie so I could have done with a break myself.

She was not feeling that photogenic that day.... cute none the less.

No baby came that night, just like most girls she arrived late and was born the next day. So now Sven and Lizzy have two cute little girls...... god help Sven!

Fee had to pop over to Copenhagen for a few days as it was Fashion week so we decided to make a weekend of it. We had a great weekend but it was SO COLD!!! Our faces and fingers were frozen while we were walking around so I only really have pictures of the food we ate. Haha

Just look how 'Fashion' and pretty she is.  :)

On our first night we met up with Ines & Gustav for a yummy meal. For some reason there was only a picture of me and Gustav and not the girls.... I guess the camera just loves us.

Apple AND Orange juice!? What will they think of next.

Tasty, sticky and sweet chicken.
Mmmmmmm.

Super crispy squid, these was sooooo good I could eat it all day long!

We had a rather nice selection of fish and meat at the Sticks and Sushi. Looking at it now makes me want to eat it again.

While in Copenhagen I couldn't  resist popping in to see my two favorite tattooists Marija and Judd at 'The Sailors Grave'. Their new(ish) studio is looking great and its always nice to catch up with them.

Oh, and i'm getting tattooed on the 20th March so watch this space.
