A day in Cph..

So me and Mr Patton took Monday off to go see the premier of 'Objectified'.

It's a film by Gary Hustwit who did the film 'Helvetica', and its all about product design and how it effects our world....and being designers, me and Patton really wanted to go.

We got to Cph early and popped into the Danish Design Center to see what was on and get our creative juices flowing.

The exbition was all about light.

They even had some Duplo to help show how certian types
of light work with colours.

You know it!

Legs in the light booth.

Patton enjoying the lights.

The most colour-less colour step ever

Patton becoming 'art'.

Some icons of design....yay Lego!

After a spot of lunch at Wagamamas we headed off to find the venue for the film. It was at the Grand Teatret which was a really cool, old school building.

Off to the Grand Teatret to see the film.

A nice shot of the screen before it started.

Saw some interesting signs on the way back to the station.

Thank god! I have been looking for one of those for ages.

Well, it's a living I guess.

This was the mass out-pouring of Jackson fans in Cph.

Sunny Sundays.

I was up pretty early today as we were going to see the "John-Wilson's" for some tea and cake...however I was supplying the cake and did not bake it the night before. So I was up at 8:15 mixing and putting stuff in the oven, so at least the house smelt of chocolate first thing in the morning.

We had not see Sanne, Simon and little Noah since before the new addition to the family (baby Luca) was born. So we sat in the sun at their place and had some cake...nice!

Noah ready to tear up the garden on his new bike.

Simon's advice to any new dad is to get yourself a 'multi broom'.

On the way home we saw that 'the beef man' had a new outfit.

What a week...

So it's a Friday and I'm sooooo brain dead.

I have had two model reviews over the past two days and it can take a lot out of you. For those of you that don't know, a model review is when a LEGO designer builds his/her model with other designers by showing them how to build it brick by brick. So you have to remember every brick and where it goes in your model. Thats not to bad for a £9:99 set, but it takes a bit of work when you get up to the £50-100 sets.

So i'm looking forward to a relaxed weekend.......anyhoo.

Me and Fee popped out to see Tara because she 'had some news'! Turned out she got a job at LEGO doing 3D modeling of new elements in my department. Yay Tara! Welcome to the family.

On our way out I checked on 'space log' to see if it had become self aware yet, but so far its still in the early stages of evolution.

"It's alive! ALIVE!"

Its starting to grow some Pink buds now, pretty...but scary at the same time.

The future Mrs Groves enjoying the sun.

Well, I'm off to enjoy my weekend...

Ps.

Is this not the most round Avocado you have ever seen?

pps.

Do I need to get out the house more?

Moving on up.

So today I went to help 'Baskia' move into their new home in Vejle. Seeing as they are expecting their first child, all the local men folk came to help them move from the Apartment to the new house with the cute garden.

They had 'A LOT' of stuff to move, a whole apartment, a basement and an attics worth of stuff. So I am a little tired and warn out at the moment, but nothing a good shower cant fix.

They were having a BBQ after the move but I had to pop home to help Fee nurse her hang over and sore toes from the Hummel summer party.

The gang unloading the second wave of stuff from the Horse box.

Some important stuff that needed moving, a pillow, a length of chain,
a coat hanger and one Grey sock.

That's one handsome moving man.

I never want to see a box again.

The 'French man' taking a break.......lazy!

The very cute decking....worth buying the house for.

You cant really see on my iPhone cam, but this bush was full of Bees.

The horrid injury I suffered moving some stuff.

I didn't have to move this, but I saw this cute church on the walk home.

So now i'm going to chill out and have a nice night in with the wife..... perfect!  :)

"My eyes!"

Man, Danish people love junk mail!

If I don't look in the post box every other day the thing would explode with the amount of paper they cram in there. However, as I was sorting out the junk from the bills and saw this.....and after seeing this I kind of wished I hadn't.

I don't know what this is selling, but I hope its not that man thong!

Toy Story 3

It's no secret that LEGO has the rights to Toy Story  and that we will be making sets based on the movies, and the great thing is...... I get to work on them!  :D

Nothing to show you yet, but things are looking great and almost all of 2010 is in the bag. We also got a sneek peek at TS3 and I can't wait to see it when it hits Denmark.

But to keep you happy, this was recently released....

"This 5'3" Lego model of Buzz Lightyear was constructed from 40,000 Lego bricks in 250 hours by 3 Master Builders. The Lego Buzz Lightyear was unveiled by Disney Consumer Products at the Licensing International Expo. Disney's Toy Story 3 comes out in 2010. Disney is also re-releasing the first two movies in 3D for a two week period in October. There will also be new LEGO Toy Story toys and other products."

Yay!  :)

Germs and Nazis

Booo! I am all germ infested at the moment.  :(

I have been a little poorly all week, and now it seems to have taken hold to full effect. Which sucks because we were meant to be at a birthday party last night. Me went to see our buddy Timbo who had invited us over for dinner before the party. All was well until I took a turn for the worse and needed to come home.

Germs, not always tasty.

I was hoping to do some doodles and stuff today, I made a start but I just cant get my head into it now. Plus, I am more of a 'night doodler'.

So there is only one option left to me.......Nazi Zombies on the PS3!

Taste my steel you maggot infested, Aryan mofo!

DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS!

So I was taking down the oddly small Danish bin bags today and I notice something different about 'car park log' (I will call it CPL from now on).

CPL is this random log that has been living in the car park for as long as we have lived here. I don't know where it came from but its never been a problem... until now.

Its always had a little moss on it, but it has now sprouted some crazy looking Alien flower's. I'm no Botanist but what I sees I don't like. I'm worried these things are going to walk up the stairs and 'body snatch' me.  :/

Behold, space log!

You try telling me that thing it not some 'spor' from Mars thats here to infest our minds.

Let me be the first to welcome CLP to the Thrown of Earth....Live Long and Prosper!

More Crazy Cam..

Just a couple more pics with the broken/super rad Cannon that appears to now 'see' sound.

If I can just find a way to harness those sound waves from the book-shelf, then I won't need to read books anymore.

Ooooo sinister, but his a nice guy...honest.

Need to take this bad-boy out on to the streets of Denmark and see what other 'vibes' I can pick up.  :)

Doodles and films.

Short post today.

Went to see Terminator Salvation the other day and it was not the 'crap fest' I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it was not that great a film but it was ok. There were some good bits where you could see where 'McG' (is that really his name?) was going with it until a lot of 'stupid' happened. If your mates got it on DVD then by all means watch it, but save your cash for a better movie.

In other news, I have been make doodles and art.....not finished yet so you will have to wait for pics.

Peace!

Sunny days and Mondays off.

It's another super sunny day here in Denmark, AND its a bank holiday Monday. So me and Fee took a little walk out to the Harbour to even out our sunburn.

Astro Boy enjoying the sun.

This is some crazy kids park from the future thats on the way to the Harbour. It has flashing light games and stuff like that! Seems kids are not content with and old shopping trolly and a broken swing like I was in my youth.

Fee navigating us though the more industrial areas of Vejle.

"Arrr...She be a fine vessel!"

Some days its nice to live in Vejle  :)
