Sunburn and Cider

Cant believe it's Sunday already!

Why do all the nice long weekends fly past at the speed of light? The week has gone so fast I almost forgot to update the blog. Anyhoo.....

The working week was nothing special, just trying to get models to price and make sure everything that should be done is being done. The best part of the week was fee coming home from Germany.  :)

I did have another attempt at cooking a Spinach & Bacon Cannelloni bake, and this time all went very well and it tasted great. Last time I attempted it the piping bag with the Spinach and Bacon mix exploded on me......yes, on me!

Mmmmmm justa likea Muma's

Friday was a super sunny nice day, so I decided to text the Vejle gang and see who was up for a drink of Cider in the sun. It turned out everyone was is the mood, in the end there were 10 of us in the local beer garden soaking up the sun and some booze.

Eventually we all got very hungry and went to 'Di Capos' for Pasta and Pizza. This made everybody super sleepy and we all had to head home for a nap, poor Fee was so tired from her traveling she almost didn't make it home.

Saturday day time was a little more of the same with Carl and Tamzin, but I ended up getting a little burnt on my neck and arms. I look a little like one of those 'Rhubarb and Custard' sweet.  :/

However, later that day me, Joakim and Chriss met up with Will and HH in Kolding as we were all off to see Raunchy at Godset. First we all went to Will's for some BBQ meat (the food of metal) and drinks. Then we jumped in cab to the show.

The bands were all good and it was a rocking night, but the crowed was VERY small which was a real shame. The crowed enjoyed the show but if there were more of us it would have been 100 times better...oh well.

Where is everybody?

Fee's off on another shoot today so I'm pottering and cleaning round the house so we can enjoy our day off tomorrow. I have two loads of washing on the go, I have vacuumed the apartment and I have mopped the bathroom floor.

Phew....best get back to it!

This ain't no Photoshop!

So I was 'pottering' around the house when I spot this really odd looking guy (dressed like a really big Elf) in the Highstreet from my window. I grab the Camera and fire her up in the hope of getting a cool pic for the blog when I notice the picture on the LDC looks a little odd.

At first I figured there was something on the lens and gave it a quick once over to clean it...no change. It then hits me that our little SONY Cyber-Shot is sick. After feeling a little sad and saying 'F*@K' a lot, I noticed that the 'effect' it was creating was kind of cool.....see what you think.

One of our book shelfs.

Our dinner table.

The table seems to be creating sound waves!

I think with a little work and playing around I could get some cool shots with this.

Every cloud.....   :)

Home alone.

Fee is off doing photo shoots for Hummel all over the place at the moment, so I am at home on my own until later in the week. Its very strange not having her around, I don't like it :(

But I have been keeping myself busy (full update to come) with stuff around the house and doing some doodles. Being a designer who plays with LEGO all day I don't really get to draw much these days, so I have made a decision to get back into it.

I had a fun idea to play around with some paint pens and black&white pictures of pin-ups. Its early days but they are looking cool, I always have to stop myself doing to much at once. I always take it too far and mess things up, so I have to stop and 'ponder' what to do next.

I think it could be fun to do a small series of these.  :)

Its a nice little start.

Fulham

If your wondering what a Fulham is exactly, its the part of  London I grew up in, and its where most of my family still live.

For some reason while surfing the good old internet I found myself looking up pictures of my home town and was surprised to find so many out there. There are many pictures that a football related because Chelsea FC have their grounds there, but there were loads just of the area. So many memories came flooding back, most of them good but some of it sad.

Fulham is very old and has a lot of history, looking at the pictures now it seems all that is being lost.  :(

This is the old Gas works near my Dads house, now mainly a natural gas storage center. Don't worry, its not full of toxic waste and has almost nothing to do with my X-men like mutant powers.

Just over the road is the 'Gas Works' restaurant, never seen it open in my life. Its owned by some old but very rich odd-ball types. They just drink there and hang out with other rich odd-ball types.

This is where I got my first Tattoo, its your typical 'I want that one' off the wall tattoo parlor. Nothing special about the place, but its where my inky obsession started....Mum was not pleased when I came home from this place.

Great old Art Deco style building on North End Road which is a big shopping street. Its always been a McD's in my life time. Many Big Macs have been eaten there, my Nan always took me there on a Saturday.  :)

This is a Pub called 'The Cock & Hen", it was called 'The Cock' but had a name change a year or so ago for obvious reasons. Fee still giggles about the story she read in the local paper that said "Local man gets stabbed in The Cock!"  :P

This has always been a Pub, the building is so grand and detailed. Its a shame somebody with no taste chose the colour pallet.  :/

This is the old Fulham Broadway Tube station. Again, this is such an old and pretty building....that's now a TGI Friday's. Thanks progress!

Another building that was amazing in its day, this was a grand looking bank until it became a 24h mini mart.

Mmmmmm....this place has been there since before I was born, and my Dad says the inside has not changed at all. I hope the oil has tho?!

Me and Fee once went into this 'Oddbins' (off-licence/ Liquor store) and brought a bottle of 'Mystery Wine'....it should have stayed a mystery!

This was an old show hall back in the good old days, you can just make out the dome sky light on the left. It's now a  'Mecca Bingo Hall' of all things, but my Nan's not complaining.

Awwwww, Dinos. this is where me and my brother would go get our hair cut when we were younger. My brother once went in wanting his hair to look like the singer from the boy band 'Bros'....things did not go well.

Some old world gems can still be found in Fulham.

It's not until you have been away from home for a while that you notice how things have changed. Not to say change is a bad thing, but I just wish Fulham could hold onto what great buildings it has, and not turn them into KFC's.

Clean...must clean!

Man, that felt good!

I finally got round to sorting out the reading/library area today, we didn't get a chance to do this area when we did our spring cleaning over Easter so it was well over due.

I re-arranged all the books to create a little more space, vacuumed the shelves to get rid of the two inch's of dust, took some stuff to the basement and bagged up some junk....and it feel sooooo good. I'm kind of a clean freak, or a 'posh spazz' as Fee likes to call me because I'm always tidying up.

We even put some of our cool design finds and cameras on display which was nice. However there is still much to be done, there are olds folios and draws full of junk to go though before I'm happy.

Mmmmmm tidy.

The plan is to get a nice comfy seat(s) and lighting so we can have a cool little reading and chill out area. Its all part of the on going plan (or should I say battle?) to get the apartment sorted.

What a week!

Well another week draws to a close and I am enjoying a lazy Sunday in front of the TV. (Isn't that what Sundays are for?)

Here's a little update of my week.......

Monday to Friday was a busy work week, loads to get done and not enough time.....same as always! Combine this with having my brace adjusted makes for a not so great week, but i've had worse. Moving on...

Friday night was good, we popped over to Carl and Tamzin's place to watch 'The Orphanage', and if your going to watch a film anywhere Carls is the place to do it. Blu-ray, HD TV, sourrond sound....nice!

I was expecting your typical "spooky kids in a spooky house doing spooky stuff" but it was a rather good, bitter sweet story. I would very much recommend.

Well, I've got my costume for Halloween sorted.

Saturday night was also rocking, not only was it Joakim's birthday party but it was also Eurovision night!!! It was a great night with silly songs, cake, drinks and everybody shouting at the TV because we all felt that Norway sucked.....apart from Lami who is from Norway. Me and Fee were also VERY surprised that the UK was not in the bottom Three for the first time in 10 years.

Love it!

One of the highlights of the night was the gift giving. Joakim got some cool gifts from the gang and the XXXL bright Yellow jumper was a comical moment that made me giggle. But the best part was when we gave him his main gift...... a ticket to see the mighty Metallica in Cph.

\m/

He seemed very touched to get this gift and its bound to be a great night, roll on July 27th!

Roll..Nom..Roll..Nom...Roll..Nom

Man, yesterday was a good day.

Me and Fee popped over to Lami's place where he showed us (by us I mean Fee) how to make crispy pork and shrimp rolls from scratch.....Mmmm

Lami is a great little cook (his not very tall) and whenever you are invited over you know your going to be well fed.

The Asian kitchen in full swing!

Check out that rolling action...hot!

This was one of three plates of rolls, I don't know how many people Lami was expecting but that was about two plates too many.

Cook my pretty's...

Mmmmmmm, very hot and very crispy.

Not only do you get great food, but you also get a great view of Vejle from Lami's apartment.

As for the neck things are healing well and its creating a bit of a buzz at work. I'll get some good pics up once it's nice and healed.

Fiorella...the worlds best pain in the neck.

So today was the day I got the  'Job Stopper' as some people have started calling it, but to be honest I'm kind of glad I'm no longer employable by such fine establishments as 'Pizza Hut' and 'McDonalds'  :)

It was horrible weather in Vejle before we set off but it got very clear and sunny once we got into Copenhagen......then it got windy and grey again. Oh well, at least it didn't rain down upon us.

We got there pretty much on time but we did not get started until 5ish, let's just say Judd likes to talk.

I'm a little sore and tired at the moment, but here are some pics Fee took while I was getting my neck drilled. Enjoy.   :)

The stencil in place and the man himself talking about the art of putting on a stencil.

Me in one of the odd positions I had to be in once he got started.

All in all things went well, it was not the terrible pain I was expecting.

The strange thing was that he kept hitting nerves in my neck that made my nose, toes, back, ears and teeth twitch. That's the wonders of the human body for you.

Fee's "I'm bored so I'm going to take some arty photos in the mirror" shot.

Thanking the Judd for his hard work.

The finished piece, it's a little red and sore at the moment which will settle down. So stay tuned for some pics once it heals up.

Fee.....I love you.

Just realized that I have not had Cake in over 3 days!!

Thats pretty impressive considering I live in Denmark, i'm sure that I have broken some sort of Danish cake law......will have to sort this out right away!

Nom!

Retro goodness.

It's a rainy Sunday here in Vejle, but that did not stop us taking a trip to the "Retro Barn of Goodness". I know I have mentioned it before and never showed you pictures, but I'm going to make up for it this time. :)

So far we have found an ace walki-talki, a great hand fan, a nice little cake stand and the pick of the bunch.....an Olivetti Valentine Typewriter!!!

Fee typing up her next best seller.

It actually works! but only in the Red ink at the moment.

It's even a Danish layout, but for some reason there is no 1, 0, or an ! Strange but true.

What is it with Boys and walki-talki's ? I just could not resist.

Best thing about it....the antenna is taller than Fee!! Awsome! I think we could talk to people on MARS with this thing . :)

My new 'Walk Fan', it has a flash light, mirror, clock and a Thermometer. Beat that!
