Pop comes to Vejle Pt1

So Daddy Groves arrived on Friday morning to some nice weather. We took the day nice and slow, my Dad had been traverling since early that morning so he was a little tired. We had some lunch at home, took a little walk out in town and relaxed for a while. In the everning we popped out for a nice dinner and a few drinks, we all had a great time and it reminded me little of the old days back in London ..... sadly I forgot to take photos (sorry).

The next morning we woke up to Fee's home made bread, Mmmmmm. It was the first time she had tried it and it turned out GREAT! I look forward to more home baked goodness in the future. :)

Yum yum!

After breakfast we popped up to the 'Dyrehaven' to feed some wildlife and be at one with nature. It was such a nice day out and we knew m Dad would love it. There was some good light and I managed to get some nice shots from the D90. Been playing with the settings and getting a feel for the camera a little more, so shots are coming out nice these days.

Deer Park to you non-Danish readers.

Crazy to think this is just a 10min drive from home.

iPhone pics....

Figured it was time to clean out some photos off the iPhone and post them up..... so enjoy. :)

Waiting for my ride to work early one morning a few weeks ago, it was crisp and clean out that morning...so nice.

I also got to hang out with the ducks but they soon left as I had not breakfast for them.

A selection of carved wooden cats at some random petrol station on the way home from Skagen the other week.

Just some handsome dude who lives here with us.

Injured myself at work the other day...that was one mean pin board.
owie!

Making Jelly shots for the Eurovision party tomorrow night.

Second round of shots, the fridge now smells like vodka and synthetic fruit...Mmmmm

Pop Groves catching some Z's after his early morning flight.

Fee making bread for tomorrow, this is her first attempt so keep your fingers crossed.

LET THERE BE LIGHT!

I was at home today getting stuff ready for the arrival of 'Pop' who lands tomorrow morning. One of the things that got done today was the installation of the new lights! We had some really crappy ones just hanging out of the wall for some time now and it feels sooooooo good to have the new one in.

Duplo Pirate ship in the spotlight.

Finally some nice and usable light in the office.

This are now has some form of light for the first time since we moved in.

The electrician came up with a cool way not to damage the floor with his ladder, by using the box's the new lights came in!

Amelie comes to say hi...

Well today was a bit of an odd day after yesterdays news but all in all it was ok. Work was productive, managed to sort out getting the electrician over to fix the lights and best of all....we got to babysit Amelie. Nothing cheers you up more than hanging out with a cute baby. :)

Amelie likes her reflection.

Choices, choices...

After a bit of a play and some dancing it was time for some milk, and boy was this baby hungry. She put a lot of effort in to that bottle of milk and she went into a little 'milk coma' for a while. she was very relaxed and happy....as long as you didn't take her empty bottle away!

My precious!

Sad news...

So the weekend was panning out nicely, there was some sun, a BBQ, bit of house work and some relaxing......that all came to an end this morning.

I got a sad phone call from my Dad informing me that my Granddad (Don) had passed away early this morning. So today we have been booking flights and figuring out when and how to get to London. He had been very sick for some time, so we were expecting this at some point.....but you can never be truly prepared.

My Grandad used to walk me to school when I was young and he always joked about how he did so much walking that his shoes would wear out....good times.

The sun is here.

Been out and about enjoying the sun today, seems like summer is starting to kick in. Been out to a nice BBQ with some of the gang, our American friends had family over so we popped by to say hi. No pictures today because I was rocking the Holga camara, so lets see how they turn out.

I was rocking the 'Pie & Mash' t-shirt the other day....so have a look at that instead.

Skagen (Løkken) Pt3

So on our last day in Løkken we woke up to a nice breakfast of home made bread AND home made jam....my fav was the Plum Jam! After stuffing our faces we headed out for a little drive to find the 'sunken lighthouse'.....

More sand!....must find the spice.

Oh, there it is....found it!

Finally at the peak of the sand dune and we can see the tip of the lighthouse.

There it is....the dunes had taken the lighthouse back it would seem.

They have tried to dig it out but the sand will fill it up agin over time I guess.

Once we had found the spice and seen enough sand for two life times we drove down to the beach....where there was more sand! The weather was starting to turn so we did not hang around to long.

Awwwww.....

The gang strutting their stuff on the beach.

Sven must have spotted something.

A boat....

"Whats going on? I want to see!"

This is where i'll be when the Zombies come!

All in a all it was a fun and adventure filled little weekend, we even had some time at home to relax and get some painting done. Super efficient...thats us!

Skagen Pt2......Baby!

So after our fun in Skagen we were ready to head home, but then we got a call from our buddies Sven and Lizy who had rented a summer house in a costal town called Løkken. They invited us down to hang out for the night with them and Sven's Brother and Sister-in-law...how could we say no! Since we first rented a summer house for Fee's birthday a couple of years ago we now love going to them, and this one came with a cute baby!

"Why are you here?"

"I likes the sun beams"

The whole gang getting ready to eat some amazing home made burgers, made with meat from the family farm...not kidding!

Oh!...and some home made buns to go with the home made burgers.

One awesome 'make your own burger' station.

Amelie looking forward to her lunch.
(Sausage arms!)

Mmmm home made table jam from Amelie.

Amelie and Fee after a 'freshen up'

"Who dat?!"

After we had eaten our own weight in meat we decided it would be a good idea to walk off our full belly's and get some fresh air. It was a cold evening but a brisk walk to the sea was just what we needed.

Captured some nice colours in the sky as the sun was setting.

Looking out unto the he ocean.

To get to the beach we had to go down these crazy steep steps!

You cant see it but i'm sure she was on her iPhone. :P

Sven was determined to go fishing while in Løkken....he didn't catch anything.
