Chilling+Relaxing=Chilaxing

Things have been a little hectic for both of us over the past six months, and it only going to get more busy as the year goes on. So we have decided to make the effort to relax more.... if that makes any sense. As well as our little holiday coming up we took a little drive up to the VejleFjord hotel for some R&R....

A great place for swimming and chilling.
They have a big pool, an outdoor heated pool, a light pool, a sound pool, a hot pool and a FREEZING COLD POOL.

Just look at how relax my toes are!

Tuesday was Ashley's Birthday and she was having a few drinks down at the Beach Bar in Arhus. Me and Fee (mainly Fee) figured "Why not!" and we hit up the beach. Fee was local and I was able to hitch a ride with some friends up to Arhus. We were super lucky as the Sun came out and blessed us all with some much needed vitamin D.

Me, Cynnie, Christine's hand, Fee, and the Beach bar made from old shipping containers.

Denmark can be rather pretty when the sun comes up.

The whole gang, on a beach, in the sun, IN DENMARK!
It really can happen.

CUTE OVERLOAD!

Ok, so on Sunday we went to see our friends who just had their second baby. So now their little girl Ella has a baby brother by the name of Joris. Some other friends came along and it turned into a bit of a baby-fest.... enjoy!

"Oh hi, welcome to my crib."

"Diz flannel smell like kloroform to you?"

Fee was getting into the whole playtime thing.
"Hey kids, what to join me in my candy castle of fun!?"

Inside the fun palace.

"Oooooooo I got a ball"

Baby Joris just chilling out in his bubblegum coloured cardigan.

Awww how....cute?

Ella has and never will trust me, this is the only look I ever get from her.

"er...what?"

The whole Dutch clan together in one shot. :)

Lami-poppins had to say good bye a little early.

"Diz is what I thinks of your offer!"

"Lamby, I done told you. Pay ups or I take your wool"

I had to be Bubble monkey for a while to keep the kids happy.

"Ooooooooooooo"

"Iz that woman behind me still talking?.... I swear to god she will go the same wayz as the Lamb"

"Some times I just like to sit here and watch the little people from the window."

"Quick! Take diz before she noms it!"

Bow ties, snails and chocolate...

It's all go! go! go! here in the Groves household this weekend. We are excepting Fee's parents over at the end of the month so cleaning has been in full swing.

A few trips to the re-cycling center and generally cleaning the whole apartment is what has happened over the past few days.... but its not all boring news. We have popped out to see friends and have a jolly good time.

Friday was Tieday and I rocked my new Bow tie for that geeky but cool professor look. We figured we should not waste it and headed out to dinner and drinks with some friends

Took a few attempts but with the help of Fee we figured out the best knot to use.
Spiffy!

Fee got dressed up and was looking fly in her polka dots and hat.

Fee, Christine, Craig, Adrian and myself all headed out for cocktails and a bite.
White Russians were in full swing!

Fee laughing at Adrian.... not with him.

Garlic snails to start, no kissing vampires tonight!

Adrian's cocktail desert created some odd results.

Judging by the looks on their faces, the girls don't seem to be buying Craig's (out of shot) amazing story.

The night was fun but we had to be up early for cleaning madness. We got a lot done the next day and after a little rest we freshened up and drove off into the wilderness to see Craig in his remote farm house.

He has a cool shack right out in the forest where nobody can hear you scream.....

On of the cars currently living in his barn.

Christine made a great curry (which I did not take pics off, sorry) and for desert we had home made chocolate mousse.

Amilie (our little German friend) was first to the table for this course.

"Oh sweet jesus this is good"
.... is what I imagined she was thinking.

Food, Music and Hair cuts....

We finally got around to doing some shopping the other day which was much needed, and while there we spotted some King Crab. We have never really done anything with crab before, so we brought it and waited for inspiration. In the end Fee remembered a great Chinese dish she used to have and recreated it!

Ginger and Spring Onion king crab with fried noodles. YUM!

That wasn't the end of our shell fish for the week as we had dinner with our friend Christine who picked up some marinated Prawns and Butter fish from the harbor. She even fired up the BBQ as it was a nice sunny day.

These were soooo good both me and Fee ate far too much.

As Fee was having a few of the Girls over for dinner I decided to hang out with Adrian and play some Bass.

"Three blind mice; three blind mice.."

He supplied the Belgium beer (which was crazy strong) and I brought over some food which we cooked up at his place after writhing some killer tracks. He even opened up some REAL Belgium Mayonnaise he picked up on his recent trip there.

Adrian is a true bachelor and has no need for plates when eating.

So today (saturday) i'm sitting at home with what feels like a touch of Flu. Hoping to shake it off as there is some boxing on tonight at a friends place. Was also meant to be at an (early) 4th July BBQ with our resident Americans but that was rained out.... so lets see what the day holds.

On the up side I did get a new hair cut!

Last weeks blog this week...

*I actually posted this last week but on the wrong blog...ops!

Last week at work was busy but productive, plus the weather is getting nicer here in DK so it was a nice week all in all. To celebrate I even wore a Bow-Tie to work, i've been rocking the'smart Friday' thing for the past few weeks and I think I'll keep it up.

The Bow-Tie went over rather well, I'll have to pick up a few more.

In other news, Fee has been hankering to get back in the kitchen. So she whipped up a little curry the other night and it was great! Tonight there will be a Chinese meal using King Crab, so she may start posting on her rather neglected food blog again.....hint, hint. ;)

Fee 'slaving' away in the kitchen.

Mmm Tasty Pork curry.

Our German friends popped over on Saturday for a coffee and some cake, it's always fun seeing them and hanging with their little girl Amelie.

Amelie can switch from happy to grumpy is a split second.

It also seems that the later half of the year will be pack with live shows and bands! From October onwards I am going to see Enter Shikari, Machine Head, Bring me the Horizon,Devil Driver and now Red Hot Chilly Peppers maybe happening. Rock on \m/

Seeing Machine Head live will NEVER get old.
