Food, Music and Hair cuts....

We finally got around to doing some shopping the other day which was much needed, and while there we spotted some King Crab. We have never really done anything with crab before, so we brought it and waited for inspiration. In the end Fee remembered a great Chinese dish she used to have and recreated it!

Ginger and Spring Onion king crab with fried noodles. YUM!

That wasn't the end of our shell fish for the week as we had dinner with our friend Christine who picked up some marinated Prawns and Butter fish from the harbor. She even fired up the BBQ as it was a nice sunny day.

These were soooo good both me and Fee ate far too much.

As Fee was having a few of the Girls over for dinner I decided to hang out with Adrian and play some Bass.

"Three blind mice; three blind mice.."

He supplied the Belgium beer (which was crazy strong) and I brought over some food which we cooked up at his place after writhing some killer tracks. He even opened up some REAL Belgium Mayonnaise he picked up on his recent trip there.

Adrian is a true bachelor and has no need for plates when eating.

So today (saturday) i'm sitting at home with what feels like a touch of Flu. Hoping to shake it off as there is some boxing on tonight at a friends place. Was also meant to be at an (early) 4th July BBQ with our resident Americans but that was rained out.... so lets see what the day holds.

On the up side I did get a new hair cut!

This week in food and fashion...

Been a busy but productive week back at work, summer holidays are just around the corner so deadlines are comming up quick.... but that nothing new. However that does not stop me from cooking up some delights in the kitchen and raiding the wardrobe!

There was not much in the fridge the other night apart from some Onions, Mushrooms and some left over pastry. Seemed bleak at first but in the end it all came together into a rather nice dish.....

Caramelized sweet red Onion tart with mushrooms in a cheese source.

Popped out in the week to get some shopping and stumbled upon a tin of HEINZ Baked Beans! Not often seem in these parts of DK, so I grab a can an plotted what sort of amazing dish we could cook up.

Baked Beans, otherwise know as "Chav-iar" back in the UK.

We decided to save the Beans for our (much needed) Saturday night in and whip up an English classic of the highest level!!

BAKED BEANS ON JACKET POTATO WITH CHEESE!!!

It was sooooo good, I admit its not the most classy meal but it is a real taste of home. It's strange the things that you miss from your home, but we have had our 'UK food fix' now and that should keep us going for a little while.

As well as it being a food week it has also been a bit of a fashion week, I have taken to planning out my outfits for the week on a Sunday night. Most days I just throw on whatever I have time to iron but I have decided to 'step it up' a little. No particular reason and I don't know how long this will last but its been fun so far. Here a little selection of what made it into work this week...

Rocked it old school with the braces and a plain white T-shirt on Wednesday. It a strong look and I think I will wear the braces more often.

As for 'Smart Friday' at work, I threw together the timeless combo of a White shirt and a black tie. Can't beat the classics.

Happy New Year....EAT EAT!!

So here are a few pics from our first Chinese New Year party in DK. Not sure why we have not done it before but i'm sure we will do it again!

We started to prep stuff the night before and got started early the next day. Here's Fee demonstrating how to fold a Won-ton.

Our French friend FX came over a little early to help and
pick up some Chinese cooking tips.

This plate was FULL by the end....and so were two more plates with various dumplings. Mmmmmmmm.

Spring-Roll manufacturing in full swing.

Santi and his mom Patti enjoying some candy.
We needed Patti there as she is actually Chinese!

Little Ella is a little suspicious of me and always keeps an eye on me.

Amelie however is more than happy to hang out with me as long as I have fruit
and toys that light up.

There they are.....just look at them eating all MY food!

Fee and Adrian became the best of friends.

Silence....

Phew!

We had a big group of friends over to celebrate the fact it was Chinese new year and we are now enjoying the silence. Most of our friends now have kids so the place was a buzz of activity, drool, playing and crying.

I'll do a full post in the week because me and Fee whipped up some super tasty home made Chinese food but I just don't have the energy now.... sorry.

We did however find some time to race babies:

"Go baby Go!"
