Up's and Down's

Its been a tough week all in all now that I look back on it.

It was great to catch up with people in London and get bits for the upcoming wedding, but there were some stressful points. One point of mega stress was the first ever 'meeting of the family's'.

Me and Fee have been together 10 years but this was the first time my side would be meeting her side (long story). It all turned out well in the end and everybody had a great time, but there was a lot of nerves leading up to the dinner.

It was also Mothers day in the UK while we were over and that always gets me down a bit. Me, my Dad and Uncle went to the cemetery on the day. Not been up in a little while so it was to see the flowers and plants in bloom.....but I always get a little moody for a while after.

Combine this with one of the worst days at work I have had for a long time and you get one unhappy chappy!

Saturday was a high point, Fee drove me all the way to Copenhagen (Tak!) to see Judd Ripley to talk about my sleeve and neck work.

www.juddripley.com

He was a very nice guy and we had a good chat about what I was after and when he could fit me in. His wife was also very friendly, she had a chat with Fee about weddings and what/what not to serve guests. Turns out she had even met Matt Diffa who had done most of my right arm....small world. So after 20min or so we found some dates and made some bookings, check out the appointment card.....

Mmmmmm inky

In total there are 6 appointments, the first being on the 8th May. So look out for pics not long after. :)

After the long drive back we had a yummy meal and watched a good film called 'Stranger than Fiction'. However I started to feel really sick towards the end of the evening and had to hit the sack. I ended up having to sleep it off most of Sunday and missed my Danish lesson. I'm over the hump but feel like I have been 10 rounds with Tyson. :(

So, up's and down's........but we carry on, roll on Monday.

Memories

Sir Ham-a-lot of London

I'm back baby!

London was pretty cool this time, bit of a whirlwind trip but mega productive.

I got a great pair of shoes for the wedding, and great shirt, great tie and a nice pair of pants. Fee was also very productive, she got some shoes for the wedding (i'm not allowed to see them) and a belt for the dress (again I cant see it).

We also got to catch up with some old family friends who we kind of lost a little contact with since moving too DK. So their was some crying (not from me, i'm to manly for that, unless I am watching the ending to ET) and lots of hugging, but everybody is super excited about the wedding in August.

It wasn't until I got back that I realised that I had not taken any photos. I guess being raised in London, I don't see it in the same way as a visiter would. I'm kind of 'blind' to all the great sights of London. So next time I think i'll take the Nikon for a spin in London town, that would probably give me fresh new perspective on London. :)

Its visits like this that make me really miss London because we had some really good time. Me, Fee and Sir Ham in our little flat in London.

Awwwww memories.

London calling.

Me and Fee are off to London!

There are always mixed feelings when going back to London. On one hand it feels like home and the on the other it makes me feel like an alien.

It's great to catch up with friends and family but after being in DK for so long London now feels very load and dirty. However the feeling never seems to last to long, after a day or two I really enjoy being back....then a day or two later I really want to get home to Vejle.  :/

The big downside to London is that I normally spend waaaay too much money on stuff I cant get here in DK. Stuff like Magazines, CD's, Films, Books, Treats. We normally have to post this back as we cant get it on the plane! Oh well...

See you in a few days!

PS:

Talking of London, here is a picture of the worst 'chippy' or Fish & Chip shop we ever saw in London.....and we saw it a lot as it was down the road from our flat. We never went in but we loved the name and hand made sign, pure class!

Designer Maths.

Here's an equation for you.....

Take one Designer + Boring Meeting = Doodles!

Being a Designer is fun........most of the time. But there is always some boring meeting to go to, or presentation to attend. But lets face it, if you draw and play with LEGO for a living then meetings are not your thing.

I normally sit there looking interested (just nod now and again and say "Hmm") and doodle on a scrap of paper. Heres just a couple that I have done recently.........enjoy.  :)

I had a LOT to do that day and was not having a great time. So I was an unhappy Octopus.

He's a Robot...can't you tell?

Freedom.

Thats it, i'm Free of Facebook and it feels good.

I don't feel this need to log-on every time i'm within a one meter radius of a computer. No longer will I spend hours 'tagging' photos of friends and hours 'untagging' myself from other peoples photos.

But just like any bad relationship, Facebook was not going to let me go withiout a fight. First it tried to guilt me into not going. "Don't leave me!" it said, "look at all the good times we had" and it showed me pictures of me with my friends saying "But Fee will miss you, and Abi will miss you" (honestly, thats what it said)

Low blow Facebook, low blow...... but i'm stronger than that!

It then asked why I was going and gave me a list of options. Everyone i ticked resulted in some 'advice' that would help make things better and stop me going.

Again, i'm was true to my goal and hit the 'deactivate' button..................only to be told that my profile would be saved and that I could just log on anytime and pick up where I left off!

Thats not what I wanted! I wanted a clean break up!

Oh well, I hope FB forgets about me and moves on someday.

Breaking up is never easy.

Well, I finally did......I'm leaving Facebook forever.

As of 7pm (Danish time) i'm gone!

It was nothing that I or Facebook did, I think we simply grew apart and needed to go our separate ways. I'm sure FB will be fine without me, FB already has a lot of friends to help it get over the break-up.

So I will simply bid you a fond farewell....it was fun while it lasted.

Friday feeling.

Thank god its Friday, its been a tough week.

However, this weekend should be very productive for me and Fee. Tomorrow we have to pick up a gift for when we head to London next week, cut my hair, do some tattoo research (more on that next time), plan the honeymoon too Japan and do Danish homework....phew! Going to a busy day.

What did cheer me up today was Fee's new 'Cat Hat', it sounded stupid but its actually very cute. She's sooooooooo happy.  :)

BCN

Was looking though some old pics and found a few from a group trip to Barcelona in 2008 that made me smile  :)

Sleeping or dead?

This shop was not the kind of shop everybody hoped it would be, man were we bummed.

Nice shot of Fee in the sun of Barcelona.

I don't like to show my face too much, so just draw on what you like.

HAHAHAHA......funny.

If you ever get the chance to meet a LEGO designer (like myself) please feel free to ask questions, we do really enjoy talking to fans and most importantly, kids. However, here are a few questions that are best avoided....unless you like to come across as annoying and unfunny.

1: "Do you drive a LEGO car?"

2:"Does everybody have a LEGO hair cut that they can remove?"

3:"Do you live in a LEGO house?

Now you have been well informed.
This Blog is now open for business!

I'm Starting to get the hang of this blogging site now, and I'm really looking forward to posting some interesting stuff.....I promise.
