The Birthday of Mrs Groves....

The 22nd was Fee's Birthday and we have been eating Cheesecake for three days straight..... not that I am complaining but I think my Liver and waist line are about to give up on me!

You cant have a Birthday without Flowers and gifts!

Fee was off to the Spa with a friend so we had a light breakfast. I did a posh twist on Egg's & Bacon.

On her Return I had made a super tasty Cheesecake with Strawberries and Jam.

This one turned out pretty good I have to say, just look at the layers!

That night we went out for dinner at a nice Italian place in town. Tasted great but we had not eaten that much Pasta in a long time so we were VERY full. The upside was that we did not eat all the Cheesecake that night! We were nice and shared it with some friends Friday night before going out for dinner and drinks..... yes you read that right, BEFORE DINNER! The best thing about being a grown up is eating cake whenever you want.  :P

Today we went to see Lizzy who was having her birthday today..... again we took Cheesecake.

Fee was teaching Amilie how to say animal names in English.... which was super cute. :)

A week in Germany Pt3

So it would not be a LEGO designer trip without a great party to top off a great visit to Berlin. We hired a cool venue in Berlin called 'Play' for the night, it had Xbox and wii's all over the place for us big kids and a free bar..... so it was a rather good night that resulted in some sore heads in the morning.

I was on White Russian's until they ran out of Kahlua because everybody was coping me...... as they often do!

Adam is not a party fan, so he sat in the corner and drew for most of the night.

The free bar was starting to show in some peoples faces early on in the night.

It's not uncommon for a megaphone to make an appearance at a LEGO party.

Adrain had drank a little too much by this point.

Simon & and Adam's nice moment photo bombed by Marcos

The wii's proved to be a big hit.

Again.... Adam is not a fan of party's.

Eric however IS THE PARTY!

 Who's that handsome guy?

A week in Germany pt2

I got home from the test in Hamburg late Tuesday night, it pretty scary because we were driving through one of the biggest storms I have ever seen! But I survived and got a decent nights sleep because I had to be up early for the LEGO bus to Berlin.

Going there was a long drive but fun nonetheless, there was a good vibe and everyone was excited to get out of Billund for a few days.

A lot of people brought their DS along to play Mario Kart....
but Adrain "fu**king loooves Pokemon!"

 Andy the floating head.

Will got lots of congratulations form the gang...why? because he is a new Daddy!

The long drive to Berlin kind of took it toll on Cephas.

Adrian and Sam feeling uncomfortable...... probably because I kept the camera on them for 2min before taking the photo. Haha

The whole theme of the trip was 'Urban Art' and we were to get some lessons by a Berlin art collective who worked out of this old warehouse complex. It was a fun few hours, pretending to be Banksy and spraying some walls.

 NEVER!

 Take that 'the bank'!!!

 Minimalist German beer.

 My god! It's so unorganized!

Fred's afro is always getting in the way of my shots.

This guy was giving us some tips of spray painting and how to get good lines. Much more tricky than you would think.

 His preferred brand of choice.

Das iz wat we do!

A week in Germany...Pt1

Last Monday I was in the city of Hamburg on some tests for LEGO. Even tho we were there for work we managed to sneak out of the test center for a bit and have a little look around the city.

Some creepy dolls we spotted in a toy shop.
Please don't come and eat my heart in the night!

You think I would be fed up with looking at this stuff.

This is what I get to call 'market research' :)

Fred, Andy and Matthew.... I think we may have been lost at this point.

A rather pretty building in the town center.

I actually don't know what building this is so I'm throwing this one out to any Germans reading this.

A rather cool 3D map we found.

We went to a nice restaurant while there (cant remember the name) but they had these stupidly big menus printed on sheets of metal. Nobody could see each other while ordering.

Home!

Phew! Its good to be back home after a whole week away in Germany.

I was in Hamburg for two days on a kids test and then I was in Berlin with the LEGO gang for our annual designer inspiration trip. Lots of fun was had, lots of drinks were drunk and lots of pics were taken. So expect some German picture spamming over the next day or two! :)

Shooting in style...

Last week me and my design team went to do some paint balling..... apparently shooting each other with balls of paint at hight speed is called 'team bonding'. It was a fun day with lots of laughs, granted it was a rather sweaty and painful day but fun none the less.

Captain Henrik was to lead us into battle..... as well as working for LEGO he actually runs this place on the side, so having him with us was handy.

There's our team... i'm 3rd from the left, just another faceless solider for the slaughter.

Normally Friday is Tieday, so I made this carbon fiber, bullet proof, undetectable by radar bow-tie.... out of cardboard.

The Red team brought extra protection for their.... delicate parts shall we say.

Being the ninja like warrior that I am, I don't really have many bruises to speak of. However my THIGHS ARE KILLING ME! All that running and crouching took its toll and I found it hard to walk up & down stairs for a few days. Haha

Summer House Vacation.... Pt5

On our final day at the summer house we decided...... to give it a good clean! Exciting stuff right?! but seeing as it was loaned to us by our friends family we wanted to leave it how we found it and leave a little thank you present.

After our hard day of cleaning we relaxed in style with a bottle of MOET and some of the great meat we picked up in Skagen.

Thats just how we roll.

Red wine beef and Mediterranean lamb getting the flame grilled treatment.

The meat was amazing.....end of story.

We ate, we drank, we sang..... well not really but we did eat and drink a lot.

I did some scribble writing with the moon.

Fee was in charge of desert so while she was in the kitchen I sneaked around to spy on her through the window. I was there for a full 5min without her seeing me, it wasn't until I took a photo with the flash on that she noticed. She was rather shocked.

Goodbye summer house, we had lots of fun and we hope to be back some day soon.
