"Who wants more melted cheese?"

Starting to feel much better which is a good thing because we are off to London to see my Dad for his 60th. So fingers crossed I can shift the last of the germs over the next two days and be fit & healthy for the madness that is London.

I did manage to drag myself out on Saturday night, we went over to see Annso and Arnaud for a very French evening indeed. We had "Raclette" which is basically melted cheese with cold cuts, potatos and boiled eggs. Its the kind of thing you eat in a log cabin after a day of skiing, there was no skiing but it was snowing that night so it felt right.

I dare you to name me a meal that
is NOT improved by melted cheese!!

Managed to do a good amount of cooking in the kitchen today but I am having issues with images and grids. So i'll post a load of images tomorrow once I get it sorted, but trust me it was a gooood day to be a stomach. :)

Gimme Gimme Gimme!!!

Anybody want to buy my kidney? I give you give price!

Boo!

It's 8am in the morning and I am at home feeling sorry for myself because I have the flu. :(

Been fighting something off since Sunday but it seems to have got it's claws into me last night. I woke up rather early (about 5am) with a pounding head and a snotty nose. Could not really get back to sleep after that, so I'm sitting here with some tea going though my own bod weight in tissue from nose blowing.

This is made even worse by the fact my wife is on a two day work thing, so she wont be home tonight. Booooo! But I'm a big boy now, so I'm going t have lots of fluids and overdose on vitamin C.

The only upside is I can now get to all those unanswered emails in my inbox. I never seem to have time at work or I forget because I'm busy building. Every cloud has a silver lining i guess.

Poor little guy looks how I feel.

Supa-dupa updatings!

Didn't really get the chance to blog over the weekend, so here is a super big update of what we have been up to.

Saturday started late because me and the wife drank a little toooooo much Friday night. It was a great night, just me and Fee having a nice meal with no TV and no interruptions. However, we did manage to polish off a few bottles so we were a little 'groggy' the next day. We were supposed to go to a friends house warming but we were really not in the frame of mind for more drinking and partying. So we decided to hang out with our buddy Carl who invited us over for take-out and a movie.

We watched 28 Weeks Later, if you saw the first one
then you don't need to see this one!

In cooking news I made a Chocolate and Pear tart for the first time and it came out great. We had a bag load of Pears that were going to waste unless we did something with them soon, so I found a recipe online and gave it a go.

This is the preparation condensed into a grid of pictures.
*InDesign grid by Fiorella Lee Groves*

Mmmm, fresh out of the oven but it has to cool fully before eating....D'oh!

Just add a little Creme fresh a dash of Cinnamon and your good to go.

We have been enjoying that little treat over the past two nights, got another desert planned but I'll keep that under my hat for now so stay tuned.

So on Sunday we woke up at a decent time, had breakfast and cleaned around the apartment a little. Normally I am the first to get the Mop out but I was not really in the mod for it that day, but we did what needed to be done so we could then head off the the main event of the weekend.....Little Chloe's 2nd Birthday. :)

Here's the girl of the moment, very excited about the cake.....or as it tuned out, blowing out the candles, which was soooo much fun she did twice.

She got a lot of gifts, mainly 'Hello Kitty' based.....

...but Like all kids, the wrapping turned out to be much more fun!

Awwwwww! Happy Birthday Chloe! :)

We had a great and noisy time with the kids eating cake and playing. But it wouldn't be an A-list party without some A-list guests now would it?

Little Luca rocking the bed head look.

Super cute Helena.....can those cheeks be anymore Rosy?!

Henrik the whirlwind....every pic of this kid is a blur, very rear
to catch him in focus.

Once home we had dinner followed by more Pear tart and started to watch Dexter Season 3 on DVD which was a birthday gift from by friend Matthew. Fee was rather happy about it also, but she is not liking the 'one episode a night' rule that's for sure.

So its Dexter at dinner for the next couple of weeks...Yay!

Well now its Monday and I am really a little off colour, I think I can feel a cold coming which is not great timing wise. So its soup, Dexter and an early night for me.

See you tomorrow!

Slow news day.

Just a quick update today.

Me and the wife had a nice night in last night but we drank a little to much and are feeling a little tired now. So no big party's for us tonight, instead we are popping over to Carl's place for a movie and a take out, and at this point that sounds great!

I did have some fun in the kitchen today but you will have to wait for pictures and info on that little experiment. :)

Good weekend!!
Just a quick update today.

Random Thursday!

Hello people of the interwebs!

Been to the gym today so we are a little beat and heading off for an early night, so today I bring you some random photos that were on my iPhone.

I call this "pondering young cat burglar mannequin"
Bilka 2010

A very pretty tree in Vejle, this is when the Snow
really hit us just after Xmas

Ok, for those readers NOT living in Denmark you may need a little back story to this next photo. If you are an unmarried man who is turning 30, it is tradition for your friends to build some big ass, ugly sculpture and stick it outside your home so the whole world knows that no woman wants to marry you or have your kids. Nice.

Scary? Funny? Erotic? You decide.

Two day re-cap.

Here is a collection of the random pictures that were on my camera that kind of some up what I have been up to for the past two days.......because I cant be bothered to tell you about it.

Ps.

Ok, ok, I know I said couldn't be bothered to update but I just wanted to give you a rundown regarding Avatar. We went to see it in 3D at a really small but cosy cinema in a town called Klovborg. Film wise, once you got over the fact it's just Pocahontas with a dusting of Dances with Wolves it's actually pretty good and entertaining. So if you haven't seen it you may want to before it goes out of the Cinema as its definitely something you need to see on the big screen.

Pew Pew!

Me and Fee (+ some of the Vejle crew) are off to see Avatar tonight in 3D y'all!

I was not that bothered about going to see it when I first saw the trailer, but EVERYBODY we know who has seen it is going on about how great it is. So we managed to find a 3D cinema in Jutland that was not to far away and we are off for some 3D big Blue alien action.

Not seen a film in 3D since 'Freddy 5' I think? and that was many years ago, so I am assuming things have improved a little since then.

Well whatever they are watching he found it funny.

It wont last long...

Just like the rest of the world we are trying to undo all the damage we did to our bodies over the Xmas period. So we are just trying to eat a little better and address the balance more in our favour.

So on the menu last night we had Chickpea, Spinach & Shitake mushroom patties with Guacamole and a Tabulae salad. Very nom indeed!

You cant beat home made!

I even managed to drag the wife to the gym for the first time this year (she was not a happy Bunnie), it was hard going but felt good to dust off the cobwebs. Feeling rather 'pooped' now but in a good way......lets see how long it take's before we crack and stuff our face's with chocolate & pop!

Cleaning house.

Today has been a very productive day indeed, and it was one of those unplanned super productive days that just sort of happens. I like those.

We got up and had a nice breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast and then donated to the to the Red Cross just to do our little bit to help the people of Haiti. We then got to cleaning up the apartment which evolved into a mega clean up that included (among other things) towel bleaching and sorting out our wardrobes!

My pile at the half way point.

Now THAT's the wardrobe of a man with OCD.

Managed to fill three whole bags that are destined for the cloths bank.

So tonight we are going to relax, make some chickpea based food with some nice side dishes and watch District 9. We also plan to go to the gym tomorrow for the first time in the new year...watch this space!

Ps.

I was attacked by a hot water bottle last night and burnt my hand.

The pink bits are a little sensitive but i'll live.

Pain in the tooth...

As mentioned in the last post I went to the Dentist yesterday to get my brace adjusted and fixed. However all did not go to plan, later that night the super tight tention that I feel on the front teeth after an adjustment had suddenly gone? Turns out the clip had broke away from the tooth...AGAIN!!

So not only was I in a lot of pain from from all the adjustments that resulted in me not getting any sleep, but I had to go back and get it fixed today.

This is how it should look.

This is how it should NOT look.

Well I am back to normal now, with a mouth full of rubber bands, metal and pain. The pain will ease up over the next few days but its been rather bad this time. :(

All back to normal...if you can call it that.

Thats enough bad news for today, how about some good news? I finally get the package my Dad sent from the UK. It was held up and took a few phone calls to sort out but we have it now. It had some cool gifts from the family for me and Fee, I got a nice set of cufflinks, a cool photo frame with an old pic of me and my bro and a tattoo book. Fee got some 'girly stuff' and a nice brooch.

How did they know?

Had to pick up a DVD for work and could no resist
getting this....not seen it yet so don't tell me the ending.

Also got a cool new pair of trainers from the wife. :)

Up's and down's I guess.

It's Tuesday......I cant think of a good title.

It's Tuesday and it's still VERY cold out...so what better way to warm up than to whip up some Sushi!! Not had some good Sushi or fish in a good while, so tonight was a good meal. Nom Nom!

A picture of the the Japanese goodness from the wife's iPhone.

In other news, I finally got round to getting up 'Foxy Proxy' which lets us watch shows online from British broadcasters. We cant watch the BBC or other UK based channels online in Denmark because of licencing laws, so you have to trick the website into thinking your in the UK. How your ask? With Foxy Proxy thats how!

For a small fee you get to use a UK server that sends all the TV goodness over to DK without the UK website knowing, take that TV licence!

We can now watch all that BBC iPlayer has to offer.

We can also watch stuff from ITV (another UK broadcaster) and yes
that is a LEGO commercial. :)

In Tattoo news, all is going well. It's healing great with very little to no swelling or soreness, very easy so far. Feels awesome to have it finished and below is the 'official' pics from Judd's site.

www.juddripley.com

I am off to the Dentist tomorrow, so there may be a geeky tooth shoot tomorrow if I am not in a bucket load of pain. :/

Peace out y'all!

All done!!!!

"Where have you been?!" I hear you cry.

Well its been the first full week back at work and my body clock is all over the place, so I have been very tired while trying to get back into the swing of work and not really been up to the task of blogging. Well i'm here to make up for it!

This weekend Fee took me to Copenhagen as a birthday present and to celebrate our 11th year anniversery (which was on the 31st Dec) and as an added bonus it was also the weekend I was going to get my sleeve finished.

We got the train up on Friday afternoon, dropped our bags off and had a nice everning and dinner date. We had a little walk around Cph before dinner which sounded like a good idea at the time, but the -7 weather soon made us run for a pre-dinner hot chocolate.

Tivoli was not open (Boo!) so here's a blurry pic to make up for it.

Just to get out of the cold we jumped on the Copenhagen wheel....the pics
blurry because I was shivering!

The view from the wheel...I think Tivoli needs more lights.

Mrs Groves looking shifty (but warm) on the wheel.

So on Saturday morning we had a nice Breakfast (which helped with the hang over) at the hotel and then went our separate ways. I went off the studio for my ink session and Fee went off to hit the sales...hard! She did very well and got some great deals for both me and her, thanks babe :) As for me, I was in for a full day of 'Cherry Blossom madness' at the hands of Judd Ripley. On arrival we got straight to it and didn't stop till the work was done.

This is the view I normally have of the whole process.

Poor Judd started to go a little crazy
after 5+ hours of Cherry Blossoms.

So after 5 ink sessions, many trains and a few snow blizzards my tattoo is finely done and it's looking AMAZING!...even if I do say so myself. I have had the idea for this sleeve in my head for a long time now and Judd has done a great job in bringing it to life.

Classic Japanese style Kabuki sleeve....love it!

Judd getting some snaps on his new D90 once we were done.

Now the blossoms are done it really feels like a 'whole' piece.

So I just want to say a big thanks to the super cool 'Sailors Grave' crew, its a great studio with great people who made me feel very welcome as well as giving me a great tattoo. If your in the market for an amazing tattoo go look them up.

Dadan, Judd, Oscar, Marija

There is plenty of 'canvas' left, so i'm sure i'll be seeing them in the future. :)

LEGO Toy Story 2010

The start of a new year means only one thing....NEW SETS!

The sets have been out in some shops for a while (they just could not wait till January) and on some fan sites, but I like to wait until they are up on the official LEGO site before I talk about them.

I have 3 sets out for Toy Story 2010, so if you like LEGO or just love Toy Story then get your hands on them. :)

I have some cool pics up on Coroflot.com
